    Dolphin Mask

    • The first project is a dolphin mask made from used household materials. You will need one paper plate, a package of construction paper, craft glue, scissors, a 20-ounce plastic bottle (label removed, cap on), a craft knife, masking tape, gray tempera paint, a paintbrush, two large, black buttons, a single hole punch and a large rubber band. Glue a sheet of gray construction paper onto the back of the paper plate, then cut away excess so that the plate looks like a gray circle. Cut the bottle in half, then attach the top half to the gray-side of the plate, towards the bottom. Cover the bottle with tape, then paint it gray. Glue the two buttons on for eyes. Punch holes on each side of the mask and tie the rubber band through the holes.

    Dolphin Sweatshirt Doll

The next project is a dolphin-shaped doll made from a sweatshirt. You need an old, gray sweatshirt or t-shirt, a white shirt, a black marker, fabric shears, a sewing machine, cotton stuffing (from an old pillow) and two, large black buttons. The shirt should preferably not have any design on the front. Draw a 2-foot long, dolphin shape on the front of the shirt. Use the pictures in this article as a guide. Cut the shape out of the shirt, cutting through both the front and back. Cut a third piece out of the white shirt to connect the two gray pieces. Sew all three pieces together. Invert the doll casing and fill with cotton. Sew two fins and a dorsal fin from the remaining shirt scrap and stuff them. Attach these pieces to the doll body and sew on the two buttons.

    Bottle Dolphin Pinata

    • Turn an empty bottle into a dolphin pinata for a child's birthday party. You will need one 2-liter plastic bottle, scissors, a cereal box, a black marker, masking tape, bag of wrapped candies, newspaper, glue, gray tempera paint, and a paintbrush. Remove the label and cut a 5-inch square door into the bottle. The door should remain attached to the bottle. Cut out three fin shapes from the cereal box and tape these on each side of the bottle and on the area opposite the door panel. Cover the top of the bottle with masking tape so that it looks like a dolphin nose. Fill the bottle with candy by pouring it into the open door, then seal the door with tape. Glue on newspaper strips, covering the entire pinata. Paint it gray once the glue has dried.

    Dolphin Puppet

    • To make a simple dolphin sock puppet you will need one gray sock, scissors, a sheet of gray craft foam, glue gun and two black buttons. Cut out fins from the gray craft foam. Glue the fins onto the gray sock similar to the arrangement of a dolphin's fins. Glue on the two black buttons as eyes. Work the puppet by inserting your hand into the sock and maneuvering it.
