Life:

Brancusi is best known for creating abstract three-dimensional designs. His early work was influenced by Rodin (for whom he worked as an assistant) and the Impressionists, but he quickly gained his unique style. He participated in the landmark 1913 Armory Show, which brought him international attention.


Though he is sometimes associated with the Dadaists, in actuality he was never a part of any artistic movement. One other notable contribution: Brancusi taught the sculptor Isamu Noguchi.
