- 2). Research the dog trainers on your list. In addition to price, ask about training methods, suggested training duration, and get a list of references. Check with the Better Business Bureau to find out if any complaints are on file about the dog trainers you are considering.
- 3). Meet with prospective trainers and allow them to spend time with your dog to see if the trainer will bond with your dog. If the trainer and the dog do not get along, the training will not work.
