      Convection ovens, also called turbo or fan ovens, are quite different from standard gas ovens. These ovens heat food much faster by transferring and circulating preheated air through the oven by using fans to create air movement. A convection oven eliminates hot spots consistently and evenly, baking foods at lower temperatures.Some convection ovens even have a feature called "proofing," which allows a rest point in the fermentation of yeast.

    Convection Microwave Ovens

    • Convection microwave ovens have dual capabilities and can bake or roast a variety of foods such as fish, ham, casseroles and even turkeys. Unlike regular microwaves, a convection microwave oven can be preheated to bake pies and cakes just like a traditional oven. Convection microwave ovens come in different styles, colors and pricing. They also range in size from 27 inches to 30 inches and can be either wall mounted or set above cook top units.

    Commercial Impingement Ovens

    • The commercial impingement oven is a very large version of a convection oven. These ovens are energy efficient and are found in several restaurants that specialize in foods such as calzones, pastries and pizza. The impingement oven has a very high rate of hot air flowing from both the top and the bottom of the food, which generally passes through the oven via the conveyer belt. This type of oven achieves a much higher convective heat transfers than most conventional ovens. Usually these ovens have heating elements that are located close to the food, which allows better cooking speeds and heat transfers.

    Portable Convection Ovens

    • The portable convection oven is an appliance that provides multiple functions and gives you the ability to broil, steam, bake, roast and even fry. However, it does not fry food in a conventional way by heating up oil; the portable convection oven uses a method called air frying. This method of frying is done when the air is heated and then used as a medium to fry foods. You can use a portable convection oven where you desire and then easily store it away when finished, unlike traditional ovens.

    Convection Toaster Ovens

    • The convection toaster oven is very similar to traditional ovens, except for the fact that it has a built in fan that circulates heated air to cook the food. The fan blows air over and all around the food, cooking it at lower temperatures and in less time. Unlike most standard or radiant ovens, which cook the bottom part of the food faster than the top, convection toaster ovens will cook food much more evenly. Some convection toaster ovens have the ability to broil, toast and bake foods.
