How to Patch the Outside of an Above-Ground Pool
- 1). Wipe around the hole with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and residue. Use a few drops of mild detergent to remove tough stains.
- 2). Cut a circular patch from the patching kit, with a pair of sharp scissors, about three times larger than the hole size.
- 3). Apply the included adhesive on the back of the patch in an even layer covering the whole patch, but do not apply it thickly or it will squeeze out from behind the patch when you apply it to the pool liner.
- 4). Place the patch on the outside of the pool so it's centered over the hole. Press down on the patch with even pressure for a few minutes to cause the patch to adhere to the liner.
- 5). Apply more pressure if the patch doesn't completely adhere to the surface until it appears to stick onto the pool.
