Many cases of hair loss have been traced to genes and stress.
The problem is if the cause is genetic, you won't know it until one day you comb your hair and clumps of hairs are stuck on the comb.
But the thing is that hair loss is a problem faced by both sexes.
Stress can cause hair loss because when the stress level hits a high note, the hormones literally go haywire.
An unfortunate thing about stress is that it can arise virtually anywhere.
For instance, if you bumped into someone's car, failed to meet deadlines, or your girlfriend decides to break off from you, stress immediately takes over.
It is a psychological thing and it affects everybody.
The only difference is the degree of stress each one has.
The logical thing to do when one suffers from hair loss is to see a doctor to establish the cause.
If it is caused by stress, then the doctor will have some medication or advise you to take up some exercise regime or practise meditation or yoga, for that matter.
If it is not stress-related, then the underlying problem could be a serious illness is brewing.
Take note that health problems such as diabetes or an infected scalp can cause hair loss.
If your doctor found that the cause of you losing your crowning glory is genetic in nature, then he may prescribe some medicated shampoo.
In general, the standard method of finding out the problem of hair loss is to do a blood test.
From the blood test, it is possible to establish where the root of the problem is infections, hormonal upheaval or insufficient nutrients.
