How to Transfer iPhone to Mac iTunes
- 1). Plug the iPhone's USB cable into the bottom of the iPhone, and plug the opposite end of the USB cable into your Macintosh computer's USB slot. According to David Pogue, author of "iPhone: The Missing Manual," iTunes will automatically run once the iPhone is plugged into the USB port.
- 2). Right-click the iPhone's tab in the iTunes window, and click "Back Up" on the shortcut menu to transfer bookmarks, text messages, email settings and new calendar events to the iTunes application.
- 3). Click "File" on the menu bar of iTunes, and click "Transfer Purchases from iPhone." Any new purchases such as music, movies, podcasts or applications will be included in the transfer, according to Pogue, and the status of the content transfer can be viewed in the display at the top of the iTunes window.
- 4). Select the Eject icon by the iPhone's tab to remove your iPhone from iTunes and your Macintosh computer. When successfully disconnected, the iPhone's screen will display the time and battery level.
