How to Remove the Radio From a 2002 Grand Prix

    • 1). Separate the negative cable from the Grand Prix's battery with pliers to prevent electric shock.

    • 2). Push the steering column lever and raise the steering wheel. Look on the bottom-right side of the steering column/radio panel and find the two Phillips screws. Remove them with the screwdriver.

    • 3). Pry along the perimeter of the steering column/radio panel with a nylon trim tool. This detaches the rear clips from the Grand Prix's dash. You can also use a plastic tool, but do not use metal as this would scratch the plastic panel.

    • 4). Grasp the panel and pull it toward you. Move the panel out of the way to have clear access to the radio and its screws.

    • 5). Remove the four Phillips screws from the radio. Pull the radio out and unplug the two connections on the rear.
