    • 1). Empty the Kool-Aid pouches. Cut the bottom open to help wash the pouches, but do not cut it completely. Wash with hot soapy water and rinse. Let the pouches dry overnight.

    • 2). Toss the Kool-Aid pouches in a dryer for a few minutes on low setting to remove all the moisture and flatten them.

    • 3). Arrange four pouches wide and three pouches tall to create the front panel. Sew together with a zigzag stitch. Make another panel for the back with the same dimensions and sew together.

    • 4). Sew three pouches together by the top of the packages to make the bottom of the tote bag. For the sides of the bag, sew three pouches together again, one for each side.

    • 5). Sew the front and back panels to the side and bottom pouches to create the tote bag.

    • 6). Add hook-and-loop fastener on the inside of the bag to close it.

    • 7). Sew on a colorful ribbon to make the handles. Alternatively, fold some pouches lengthwise and sew them together, then sew them into the bag.

    • 8). Add bias tape around the top of the tote bag. Decorate with stickers, permanent markers or buttons.
