How to Glue on a Man's Wig
- 1). Soak the cotton ball in a little witch hazel or rubbing alcohol and rub it over your bare scalp. This removes any oil buildup that could affect the adhesion.
- 2). Place the toupee on your head and move it around until it's sitting in the desired spot. This is to see where the toupee hairline sits; blindly gluing the toupee on your head can result in a crooked toupee, too-low hairline or excess glue seepage around the hairline.
- 3). Fold the front of the toupee back away from your forehead and clip it in place.
- 4). Apply a thin layer of glue along the area where the hairline of the toupee will sit. Apply it with your finger, brush-on applicator or sponge applicator.
- 5). Let the glue dry, then apply another coat. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until you have at least three coats. Let the glue dry for about two to three hours. Water-based glue, which is white, dries clear.
- 6). Unclip the front of the toupee and roll it forward onto your scalp and over the adhesive. Use the comb to lift the hair, then press the lace to your scalp with your fingers. Style as usual.
