- 1). Measure the area on which you will apply your personalized window decal. Make sure that it will fit the area and not obstruct your view during driving before making a final decision on size and design. Consider transparent designs for decals that will cover large surfaces.
- 2). Purchase printable window decal paper on which you can add your design. This paper is sold in some office supply stores and can also be purchased online. Design your decal using the appropriate software program. You might want to add words, pictures, or original artwork that you have scanned onto your computer.
- 3). Print a sample of the decal using regular printer paper to ensure it is centered correctly on the paper. Set your printer to the best color saturation levels to achieve the brightest results when readying the printer for the final product.
- 4). Decide which side of the window you want the decal to face. If you want it facing out, you may need to reverse the image to paste on the inside of the window. For best results, set your printer to photo, transparent or glossy. Insert the decal paper and print your decal.
