How to Feed Plants Different Water Solutions
- 1). Research the watering and fertilizing needs of your plants. Be prepared to add more or less accordingly.
- 2). Prepare your water or water mixture. If you're using a mixture of fertilizer and water, use a bucket to combine them.
- 3). Allow your water or water mixture to sit until it reaches room temperature. Watering your plants with hot or cold water might damage them.
- 4). Fill your watering can. Many plants don't like getting water on their leaves or stalks; a watering can will prevent this.
- 5). Pour the water or water mixture into your pots, or around the base of your outdoor plants, until the entire root area is filled with water. Allow the water to settle into the soil.
- 6). Allow the plants to dry for a couple of days before watering them again. Take into account a plant's age, size and location when deciding how long to go between waterings.
