ADD - Get Rid of It Now!

All ADD people know how difficult it is to keep their living spaces organized.
They may have an entire house that's cluttered and messy or they may have just an office or even just a desk.
If they live with non-ADD people who can keep everything else in order, they're lucky.
Some people with ADD just have things and things and more things, piled to the roof.
Yet, they didn't design their living spaces that way.
ADD people love clean, orderliness just as much as anyone else, but well...
The mess just seems to happen.
And when they look at it, even though they've read all the ADD books telling them to take it a chunk at a time or to concentrate on it for 10 minutes or whatever, they just can't.
They're totally mentally exhausted by looking at the debris field and they can't do a thing.
Well, here's something you can do that will nip clutter in the bud.
Train yourself to throw useless things away the minute they arrive.
If something wants to stay, it had better be relative to your survival.
Otherwise, you need to trash it before IT makes a mess in your space.
Like, everyone in the country, whether ADD or not, you get junk mail.
You may get those packs of coupons every week or month and think, Oh, I'll look at these later.
There might be a coupon for getting my car washed, or one for getting the dog groomed or whatever.
But what really happens? You probably put the packet down somewhere, thinking you'll get back to it later, but you don't.
And when you're trying to straighten out a mess, you find the coupons and see that they're all expired.
Save yourself the trouble and time of looking through expired junk.
Toss them the minute they come in the door and you'll never have to worry about them again.
Newspapers can be troublesome for ADD people, too.
You subscribe because you have every intention of reading the papers.
You enjoy reading them, even.
But you don't usually have time.
So, you stack them in a corner and the pile just keeps looming larger and larger, until it topples over.
You end up sticking the ones that fell into the recycling bins, or maybe all of them, if you're smart.
But here's the thing: Why pay for something you're just going to end up throwing away anyhow? Stop the subscription and save yourself trouble.
You'll also save time and trouble if you toss shopping bags.
I know you think you'll use them later, if you need to take something back to the store.
But how often does that happen? And really, who cares what bag it's in if you're taking it back? Keep three or four bags and put every other bag into the recycling bin.
Get rid of them! You really can exist without them.
And this is true of any useless junk that tries to come in your front door.
If it insists upon getting inside, just throw it away or recycle it, if you can.
Or stop it from coming completely.
Nipping this stuff in the bud is one way to decrease your clutter and make you feel less exhausted when it comes to cleaning things up.
That doesn't mean you won't still have clutter.
ADD just allows that to happen.
But at least, it will be less clutter than if you pack rat useless things away.
