    Games

    • Games are a great sober activity for a weekend night. Board games, card games and role-playing games like charades are fun to engage in with your friends. Invite friends over for a game night, set up a bunch of card tables with chairs, and put out bowls of snacks and sodas. Leave a game option on each table, and everyone can take a turn playing each of the games.

    The Outdoors

    • Hiking, biking, camping, swimming and even just taking a walk are great ways to have fun and stay sober. Outdoor activities are a great way to get exercise, experience nature, and spend positive time with your friends. Maps of day hikes are readily available on the Internet, and hikes or walks can be tailored to your physical abilities.

    Dancing

    • Most towns have at least one dance studio where adults can take lessons or participate in a dance social. Try taking a few lessons, then attend the social dance events. Social dance is fun, and is a great way to meet friends or potential significant others.

    See a Movie

    • Go to the theater or rent a movie to watch at home. For many people, movies are a great escape from the monotony of daily life. You can watch the movie alone, or invite friends to go to the theater or come over and watch it with you.
