How to Dilute Oil-Based Enamel Paint
- 1). Stir the paint well with a stir stick, or have the paint shaken for you. If you stir the paint by hand, remember to scrape the bottom of the paint can to mix all of the settled parts of the paint into the rest of the mixture.
- 2). Add no more paint thinner to the can than what is recommended by the label. Stir the thinner into the paint well.
- 3). Test the paint consistency with a paint brush or roller to see if it is right for you.
