Does it seem like day in and day out it is a struggle just to hold things together? You may tell yourself that things will get better soon, you may even believe what you are telling yourself is true.
The unfortunate truth is that things will NOT get better.
Things will get worse and worse, the anxiety will take over your life and before you know it you will withdraw from friends, you will withdraw from loved ones and your world will close in on you and no one can help you.
Unless...
You take action and do something about it.
Coping with anxiety is only the beginning of a long journey in the treatment of anxiety disorders.
The ultimate goal is to have complete freedom from anxiety.
Many people will tell you that you can never be stress and anxiety free and those people are 100% correct.
That is why the goal is to have freedom from anxiety which means that although it still may be present, you are not controlled by the anxiety and stress in your life.
The first step is to identify what triggers your anxiety and stress.
This is quite possibly the most important step you can take.
It is hard to start an effective treatment if you don't even know the source of your anxiety.
Start a log to keep track of situations, events, people or places that you notice yourself getting anxious.
Knowledge will be your greatest ally when preparing to start an effective treatment program.
Act on the information: Launch an effective treatment program.
Knowledge is useless unless you act on it.
In most cases, you can't do it alone.
You may choose to seek counseling with a therapist, or you may opt for more private self treatment programs.
Either way, after you are armed with the specific sources of your anxiety, its time to begin a treatment program.
Don't sit on it! Take action today, right now! Your anxiety issues will not go away by themselves.
Every day that you wait to start some form of anxiety or stress treatment program is another day that your anxiety becomes more deeply rooted and another day not used on your road to recovery.
