How to Remove a Drain Pan from a Whirlpool Side by Side Refrigerator
- 1). Turn off the power to the Whirlpool side by side refrigerator. Unplug the refrigerator plug from the socket or turn off the refrigerator at the panel on the main circuit breaker.
- 2). Remove the front toe kick grill on the bottom of the refrigerator. Depending on the model, this may be held in with hex screws, flat-bladed or Phillips-head screws. Pull the toe kick off the refrigerator and set it aside.
- 3). Lift up on the front part of the drain pan gently. Proceed slowly so as to not spill any water inside the refrigerator.
- 4). Pull the drain pain out from underneath the Whirlpool refrigerator. These pans run the entire depth of the refrigerator, so they can be quite long. Continue pulling the drain pan out until it comes all the way out.
- 5). Empty the water from drain pan in a nearby sink. Use a solution of 1 cup warm water to 1 capful of bleach and rinse out the pan.
