How to Install Vinyl Decals on Books
- 1). Wipe the surface of the book with a clean cloth or rag.
- 2). Position the vinyl decal where you would like it displayed. Place three small pieces of masking tape along the top edge of the vinyl decal. Once you have it positioned in the correct spot, place a long strip of tape along the top edge of the vinyl decal (half on the vinyl decal and half on the book surface).
- 3). Mix three drops of dish soap with a pint of water in the spray bottle. Shake the bottle.
- 4). Lift the vinyl decal up and spray the book surface under the decal with the soapy water solution.
- 5). While still holding the vinyl decal away from the book surface, slowly squeegee the vinyl decal, starting from the top and working your way down, to adhere the sticker to the book's surface.
- 6). Once you have the vinyl decal flattened against the book's surface, run the squeegee from the center of the vinyl decal out in every direction until the vinyl decal is secured and you do not see any water under the decal's top peel liner.
- 7). Peel off the tape holding the top of the vinyl decal to the book. Starting from a top corner, peel the vinyl decal's top peel liner away from the decal. If you see any water under the decal, lay the vinyl decal top peel liner over the water area and squeegee it again, then peel the vinyl decal top peel liner off completely. Allow it to dry for four hours before touching it.
