How to Save a MSN Display Photo to a JPG
- 1). Initiate a chat with a person on your contact list. This should be the person that uses the display picture you wish to save onto your computer. To initiate a conversation with a person on your contact list, double-click on the person's display name. You do not need to type anything.
- 2). Press the "Print Screen" button. Do not minimize the chat window before clicking on the "Print Screen" button. If the chat window is minimized, you will not be able to save your contact's display picture.
- 3). Open a paint program. Any program that is able to manipulate images is suitable for this step. One example is Microsoft Paint. MS Paint is pre-installed on all computers running under a Windows operating system. To open MS Paint, navigate through "Start," "All Programs." "Accessories" and "Paint."
- 4). Click on the "Edit" button on the top toolbar of MS Paint. Click on the "Paste" option under the "Edit" tab. Alternatively, you may simply press "CTRL + V" to paste the image into MS Paint.
- 5). Click on the "Select Tool" on the left-hand toolbar in MS Paint. The select tool is the second tool on the first row, or the tool that is rectangular in shape.
- 6). Use the "Select Tool" to outline the display picture you wish to save on your computer. To do this, click on one corner of the contact's display picture. Drag your mouse so that the "Select Tool" forms a square over the display picture.
- 7). Right-click on the selected area. Select "Copy."
- 8). Select "File" and "New" in MS Paint.
- 9). Press "CTRL + V" or "Edit" and "Paste." You will be left with just the outlined display picture. To save the picture, click on "File" and "Save As." Name the picture file and select "Save."
