Whether the real estate market is up or down, every agent needs good marketing tools to help her sell homes. Real estate marketing does not just involve buying ad space in newspapers. Using a variety of tools to keep in contact with potential and past clients is the best way to boost your sales. - Networking in real estate is one of the biggest tools you have in your marketing toolbox. Whether you prefer to call people on the phone and talk to them, volunteer for area organizations or throw and attend parties and other events, getting yourself and your name in front of people constantly is the best way for them to remember who you are and what you do.
- Newsletters, whether online as a blog or delivered in paper format, are a good way to give people helpful information and let them know about your services as a real estate agent. Filling a newsletter with tips on buying a home, home inspection issues, getting a mortgage and other home-buying related issues is a tool that gets results quickly.
- When you meet someone you think might be a client, send them a holiday greeting, birthday card or just a short postcard. It doesn't have to say anything about your business. Just a simple note that lets them know you care is the only tool you need to keep your name in front of them -- one of the key tools in building your clientele.
- A website with your personal brand is an essential tool for your real estate business. Feature various listings, offer advice that isn't sales copy, and give visitors the opportunity to sign up for your newsletter. Put links to your social media accounts and email address (you may want a separate account just for your website to avoid too much spam in an account you use often).
- Sign up for a variety of social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and any other local or new sites that interest you. When you meet someone that might be able to benefit from your real estate knowledge, invite them to join your page. Put your various "handles" or usernames on your business cards, website and brochures so that new clients can find you right away -- and tell their friends and family about you.
