How to Create Your Own Vellum Invitations
- 1). Prepare the necessary supplies to create your invitations. You will need to know the number of invitations you are making. You will also need adhesive if the invitations will need assembling. Your local craft supply store should sell adhesive especially for vellum so that you will not be able to see it and it will dry clear.
- 2). Create your invitation out on paper. It is important to create a rough draft of the invitation before you print it out. Vellum can be expensive, and it is important to know how you are going to lay it out before creating a final piece.
- 3). Use vellum to create a peek through invitation. Because you can see through the vellum, you will be able to use it as an overlay. You can use ribbon or even adhesive to attach the vellum to the front of it.
- 4). Print out your invitations. If you are planning to print on the vellum, make sure to use a laser printer as an ink jet ink will take a very long time to dry, as well as it is more prone to smear because of the texture of the paper.
- 5). Assemble the invitations. If you are planning to make a large number of invitations, you may want to send them to a professional printer, or gather a small group of people together to help you put them together. Vellum is a great way to dress up an invitation.
