The Clarke Sinclair Memorial Archery Scholarship

• The mission of the California-based, non-profit Clarke Sinclair Memorial Archery Scholarship Corporation is to promote the development of elite amateur archery. The corporation offers support to youth and college archers who do not have funding from national associations or full funding from colleges or universities. In 2010, the scholarship program provided youth awards of $250 and $500 to successful applicants. Candidates with a GPA of 3.0 or higher must submit an essay as part of the application process. The late Clarke Sinclair was a cadet recurve archer.
  
  

Julius Collins Memorial Youth Tennis Scholarship

• The Julius Collins Memorial Youth Tennis Scholarship Fund helps financially needy San Diego-based children pursue tennis lessons and to participate in regional and national tournaments. Youth Tennis San Diego administers the fund, which subsidizes the cost of junior tennis players taking part in the summertime Send-a-Kid-to-Camp program. Besides tennis instruction in theory, technical training, drills, written analysis, practice and play, the camp provides participants with opportunities to meet and befriend children from different backgrounds. The junior tennis camp is under the direction of Ed Collins, former coach of the University of San Diego's nationally ranked men's tennis team.
  
  

Grand Slam For Youth Baseball Scholarship

• In 2002, the Houston Astros and the manufacturers of Minute Maid introduced Grand Slam for Youth Baseball, providing sponsorship of the City of Houston Parks &: Recreation Department's Youth Baseball Program. This give the young people of Greater Houston opportunities to learn about and enjoy baseball. The program introduced scholarships in 2005. Individual scholarships for senior high school boys and girls help to cover the costs of college. In 2008, the average scholarship value was $2,500.
  
  

Kick 4 College National Karate League Scholarship

• The Kick 4 College National Karate League gives young martial arts competitors throughout the United States the opportunity to earn a full college scholarship while competing in karate. Scholarship tournaments divide competitors into groups of 13 years and under; 14 to 17 years; and 18 years and older. The top three winners in each tournament receive scholarships. Scholarship amounts vary according to the costs at individual colleges and universities that receive Kick 4 College funds on behalf of the scholarship winners. For example, in 2007, the average scholarship value was $1,000. Kick 4 College Inc. is a nonprofit corporation based in Plano, Texas.
