How to Make a Fake Pizza
- 1). Mix colors of polymer clay, or find a color, to create a dough-colored ball roughly the size of your palm.
- 2). Flatten the ball on a clean baking sheet, making sure it keeps a roughly round shape. Pinch the edges to make them thicker, like a crust. Round out any really jagged edges, but don't worry too much about imperfections.
- 3). Roll another ball, red this time, and smaller. Flatten it as well, but don't press too hard. The red piece should be smaller and thinner than the dough piece, so the "crust" will show around the edge.
- 4). Score both pieces with hash marks -- use a toothpick or something similar -- though not too deeply. Score diagonal lines across each clay piece. Then score diagonal lines in the opposite direction. These hash marks will act as a sort of glue for the clay pieces, since polymer clay does not naturally stick to itself.
- 5). Lift the red piece off the sheet with a spatula and place it on the first clay piece, hash-marked side down, so the hash marks meet.Try to center it as you lay it down. Press the two pieces together, without ruining the "pizza."
- 6). Mix a ball of white and a little yellow, smaller than the red ball. Do exactly what you did with the red ball for this ball. Place this piece on top of the other two, hash-marked side down.
- 7). Add toppings. Use green bits for peppers, brownish-red circles for sausages and white ovals for mushrooms. Using the same method as used in Step 4, score each piece and the area where you intend to place it. Place the topping pieces on the pizza, hash marks to hash marks.
- 8). Bake the pieces at 275 degrees Fahrenheit, allowing 15 minutes for each quarter inch of clay.
- 9). Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool before you take it off the sheet.
