In doing so, Maxolon is effective as treatment for gastroesophageal reflux and slow gastric emptying in individuals with diabetes. Maxolon is often sold under the brand-name, Reglan.
  
  

Common Side Effects

• Users of Maxolon may experience the following common side effects: dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nausea, upset stomach, diarrhea, mild insomnia, decreased energy, and restlessness. Though common and less serious than other side effects, contact your doctor if any of the above side effects persist or worsen.
  
  

Severe Side Effects

• According to Drugs.com, a variety of severe side effects may occur as a result of using Maxolon including "abnormal thinking; confusion; dark urine; decreased coordination; decreased sexual ability; fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; fever; hallucinations; loss of bladder control; mental or mood changes (eg, depression, anxiety, agitation, jitteriness); seizures; severe or persistent dizziness, headache, or trouble sleeping; severe or persistent restlessness, including inability to sit still; shortness of breath; stiff or rigid muscles; sudden increased sweating; sudden unusual weight gain; suicidal thoughts or actions; swelling of the arms, legs, or feet; uncontrolled muscle movements (eg, of the arms, legs, tongue, jaw, cheeks; twitching; tremors); vision changes; yellowing of the skin or eyes." Seek immediate medical attention if any of these severe side effects occur.
  
  

Use

• Always follow a prescription given by your doctor exactly. Never alter the dose size or duration of use. Take Maxolon with a full glass (8 oz) of water. Doses are usually taken orally 30 minutes before meals. To use safely, never take Maxolon for more than 3 months.
  
  

Warning

• Before operating heavy machinery or a car, be sure to take note of how Maxolon may affect your judgment. Using alcohol while taking Maxolon can increase the side effects of dizziness and drowsiness. Do not use in children under the age of 15.
