    • 1). Carve wood, wax or clay with carving tools into the exact model you wish to use. Be sure to put all the details you want in this version as it will be duplicated exactly.

    • 2). Wrap plaster entirely around the mold. Use the plaster as directed by the instructions. Press down on it so that the plaster can absorb each individual detail of the model.

    • 3). Wait for plaster to set. The time will be dictated by the directions on the plaster you choose, but 45 minutes should be plenty of time.

    • 4). Cut the mold from the plaster using a saw. Try to cut this as close to the middle as possible, this will make pouring the molten plastic into the mold easier.

    • 5). Melt plastic until it's completely liquid. The plastic should have specifications on how much heat is needed for this.

    • 6). Pour plastic into one half of the mold. Pour only between one-quarter and one-third full for just enough plastic to coat the outside liberally enough to have a solid shell.

    • 7). Clamp the edges of the mold shut. This will prevent the plastic from spilling out.

    • 8). Rotate the mold slowly, continuously and evenly. Do this by hand or use any other method that can do so smoothly and allow the specified time to pass as indicated by the instructions with the plastic. Given the amount of plastic it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.

    • 9). Remove the casting from the mold. Sand it down, cut it and paint it to finish the customized RC car shell.
