    • 1). Dip the egg in a vinegar and water solution to clean it of all grease and grime.

    • 2). Hold the metal tip of the kistky over a flame for five seconds to warm it. Dip the tip into beeswax.

    • 3). Draw on the surface of a white egg using the kistky. The kistky will deposit a layer of wax on the surface of the egg in the pattern that you draw. The parts covered by wax in this step will remain white.

    • 4). Dip the egg in the next lightest dye you plan to use, usually yellow. Let the dye dry for five minutes. Draw the next part of your pattern on the egg.

    • 5). Continue the dipping and dying process, proceeding from the lightest colors to the darkest. The whole time the white design you did in the first step will be protected by wax, as will subsequent waxed colors.

    • 6). Hold the egg near a candle flame when you are finished drawing. The flame will begin to melt the wax. Pull the egg away and wipe the melted wax off using a paper towel. Continue this process until all the wax has been removed, revealing all the colors of your egg.

    • 7). Cover the egg in varnish or spray on sealant.
