How to Cut Pipe Down the Center with a Vertical Band Saw

    • 1). Set the bevel on your table saw blade to 30 degrees and rip the two-by-four down the middle.

    • 2). Position the two wedges on the strip of plywood so they form an open V. The two boards should be placed just wide enough that the pipe rests snugly in the V.

    • 3). Attach the two V-cut boards to the plywood with 1 1/2-inch wood screws.

    • 4). Position the band saw fence so that the V of the jig is centered on the band saw blade with the jig firmly against the fence.

    • 5). Place the pipe into the jig. Turn on the band saw and guide the jig through the blade, cutting the pipe cleanly down the center.
