How to Disassemble a Pool Filter
- 1). Unscrew the hose clamps or any adapters that hook the hoses to the filter pump and to the pool.
- 2). Remove the hoses from the clamps or adapters.
- 3). Unscrew the top of the filter pump and remove it from the pump. Some pumps are secured with a clamping system; unscrew the clamp screws with a screwdriver to remove the clamp before lifting off the top.
- 4). Remove the filter from inside the pump.
- 5). Unscrew any union collars from the valve fittings. Remove the O-ring installed underneath the valve fitting.
- 6). Loosen all bolts with a wrench, if your filter pump is bolted to a base. Lift the filter pump off the base once the bolts are completely removed.
- 7). Loosen any remaining bolts or screws with a screwdriver or wrench to remove any remaining additional pieces.
