Running For Your Life
I have always been a fairly active person, which no doubt stems from my selective A.
D.
D as a kid.
I call it selective, because I have always been able to switch it on and off.
Some may call it hyperactive, but I call it selective A.

I always used to quell my need for being somewhat hyperactive, by running around in the backyard until I felt the need to sleep.
This was usually later in the evening after the sun had gone down.
I was, and always have been a very active person.
Not just because I wanted to be running around outdoors, but because I needed to be running around outdoors.
Trust me when I tell you that it made my parents lives a lot easier.
I think.
Yes, running is the perfect way to vent, release, and open yourself up to what you actually hold inside - your spirit.
For all those out there who run roughly three times a week, you will all understand what I say.
That is why I truly believe that in order to beat our inner demons, including the almighty 'depression' we must physically flush ourselves by exercising.
Running is the perfect sport for this, long-distance is even more beneficial.
In order to achieve at long-distance running, you have to give up some of your free time, and motivate yourself.
If it's raining outside, or looks cold, you can not let this stop you.
Even if you're feeling tired, or just can't be bothered, you have to overcome this feeling and get out and do it.
Once you're out in the open running along the road, or track, all of these negative feelings will dissipate, and positive feelings will rise.
Trust me in that.
I think that pushing yourself to achieve a goal is imperative.
No matter what goal it is - running your first 5km, making it to the 20km mark.
If you set it, and then strive your hardest to push your body to the moment when you cross that line, the sun will shine, and you will smile your little heart out.
Take it slow at first of course, but keep on building these runs up, and over time you will see some amazing results.
Enter in some competitions like fun runs to start with, and work your way towards a half marathon, and you never do know where this will take you.
Maybe even a full marathon! I have been running almost every day lately, and I have to say that I've felt the best, both physically, as well as mentally, that I've felt ever in my life.
Running just does something to your body, that makes you feel like your life has intensified in clarity in some bizarre way.
I'm sure there are other runners out there, who would probably use different words to describe this feeling, but it just seems to make everything become a whole lot clearer.
When you feel slightly down, or depressed in life and whatever crap it's been throwing at you, I recommend strapping on your running shoes, and put some good running tunes on your iPod, and get out into the open.
Start slow and build it up as you go, and reap the rewards of this amazing cure for the bodies we live in.
