How to Make Jeweler's Collage Sheets
- 1). Put the images you want to include in the jewelry collage sheet in a scanner and scan them onto your computer. The images you scan need to be larger than 1 inch, as this is the standard size for collage pendants.
- 2). Open each scanned image into a photo editing program, such as Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop or Paint.NET. Click on the selection tool in the toolbox and choose the shape for the selection tool, such as a circle, a square or a rectangle depending on the shape the of collage pendants you will be using.
- 3). Click on the upper-left of the area you want to isolate in the image. For example, if you want to only include the face of a person with a little bit of the background, click on the upper-left of the face with some of the background included and drag the selection tool down to the lower-right of the face and release the mouse. If you aren't satisfied with the area you selected, try again.
- 4). Click on the "Crop" function in the program to isolate the area you selected as a whole image. The area around the selection will be gone.
- 5). Select the "Resize" function in the program and enter the dimensions you want the images to be in inches. Type in the dimensions in the height and width boxes and select "Inches" from the drop down menu. Save the image but do not close it out of the program. Repeat this process for all of the images you want to include on the collage sheet.
- 6). Go to "File" and then "New" in the program and enter 8 1/2 inches for the width and 11 inches for the height in the New File box.
- 7). Copy and paste each image you cropped and resized onto the new blank file. Arrange them so they have at least a finger width of space between them. When the file is filled with images, save the file and print on a plain white sheet that is 8 1/2 inches wide by 11 inches high.
