The Melaleuca Business Opportunity Smells Like the 1950s

The Melaleuca business opportunity has been led by CEO, Frank VanderSloot for the past 23 years and has become a global leader in the world of network marketing.
With annual sales over $859 million dollars, this company is a hit among networkers.
Why? I believe it has something to do with the smell of the company.
So What Does That Mean? It means that the Melaleuca business opportunity is what they like to consider a different kind of network marketing opportunity.
Melaleuca have a diverse line of products ranging from their ever popular wellness products which they are best known for to common items like laundry soap.
Now does this sound familiar? Melaleuca seems to mirror the image of a company that started the network marketing industry altogether: Amway.
The Melaleuca business claims that their wellness line will always be a better value than the leading grocery store brand.
They say this because they are the manufacture AND the retailer of their product line so it eliminates the cost of a middleman.
As well, instead of having to pay costs of advertising, they pay their team of network marketing representatives (you) to get the word out on the street.
Melaleuca promotes word of mouth referral, or traditional network marketing.
This is also a thing from 1950's that smells similar to the hay days of Amway.
Melaleuca does not mention the use of much more effective mlm tools to help representatives build their businesses more rapidly and with the right kind of people other than going face-to-face.
Overall, there are a lot of things that may be a turn off as Amway gained a reputation.
A negative connotation was laid out for the rest of the network marketing companies that followed it.
However, a person who knows anything about the industry or digs a little deeper knows that it is the easiest way to wealth if you have the proper mlm tools.
Here are a couple things that really stood out for the Melaleuca business opportunity.
The Melaleuca opportunity, for starters, differs because they are a "green" company meaning they do their environmental duties to keep junk out of our landfills.
The Melaleuca business claims that" if all other companies followed their lead in selling concentrated products, each year landfills in North America would have 890 million TONS less plastic waste".
They also create their cleaning products more naturally by not using harmful substances like chlorine bleach, ammonia or formaldehyde that pollute and are toxic.
This is probably not something you will see with Amway as the "green" movement didn't become popular until the later 90's.
This gives the Melaleuca business opportunity a unique edge that deserves a second look.
The Idaho Falls, ID based company also has another big difference.
The Melaleuca business opportunity does not require you to stock your garage like a stockroom at the grocery store.
This is vastly different for the 1950's Amway days.
Lastly, this company also gives an ongoing monthly referral commission to their representatives as they get people to shop the store online.
The reason they can pay out a good chunk of the profit to the reps is because the representatives ARE the advertisement.
This is the same with Amway outside of the fact that with Amway, you had to stock your own, bill your own, sell your own and compete with all the people doing the same thing for a commission.
The beauty of not living in the 50's anymore is transportation has become relatively simple, online has become easy, the compensation plans have bettered, and people have better mlm tools than ever before.
Overall, the Melaleuca business opportunity may smell like Amway, but it is one worth giving thought to and has enough differences to make it unique in really good ways.
Like any network marketing opportunity the suggestion is to make sure you do your research and have the proper mlm tools to grow a thriving business.
