How to Flux Paint
- 1). Think about which colors you associate with each emotion, jot them down on a piece of paper if you desire.
- 2). Consider your own emotional state at the time of the painting, or in a recent significant event in your life.
- 3). Place your canvas on a sturdy stand or table --- one that will hold the piece just in case you press hard on the canvas.
- 4). Mix colors on the palette with the palette knife, with each color corresponding with the emotion.
- 5). Paint on colors with a broad brush with large strokes. Do not put too many colors in one area, or it will become muddy looking.
- 6). Add smaller details, such as paint spatters, dots or tiny brush strokes with a smaller paintbrush.
- 7). Allow the piece to dry. Come back to it and view it after a couple hours or days and add any extra details that you feel necessary to convey your full emotion.
