What you see - Ayaan is a concept store that celebrates Indian heritage in its true spirit. The home accessories shop at The Gallery, MG Road in Delhi aims to showcase the authentic beauty and workmanship of Indian craft through its aesthetic and distinct collection.

The 50,000 square feet store has a rare collection of artifacts in traditional designs. As you enter, you spot a line of Rajasthani and Jaipur-inspired tables, chairs and big flower vases. These are placed beautifully complementing the dcor. Theres a touch of contemporary ethnicity in the display.

The manager at the store informs that all the items are directly bought from the houses of weavers and craftsman living in remote areas of India. Since there are no middlemen involved, it helps generate good income for these talented artisans.

What you get The luxurious store has large statues of Buddha and Ganesha made of ceramic, welcoming the visitor toAyaan, Delhi experience culture and heritage under one roof. Theres a peaceful semblance to it. That apart, theres a premium range of corporate gifts, for discerning customers. We see an entire range of products in wood, glass, terracotta, papier mache, leather, blue pottery, wrought iron and more.

The attractive segments at Ayaan are the low lying corners with blue pottery. Theres also an exotic statue of a sleeping woman and a man made of brass that can add a royal touch to a house. There are some beautiful paintings around as well.

Priced around Rs. 2 lakh, we find an elegant antique mirror in silver extraordinary. Its a masterpiece which takes you to the Mughal era and revives stories of that time. Complementing the mirrors are the corner tables in teakwood with designs of women and men playing dandiya with zest. The vibrant colors of the table showcase an eclectic mix of culture and heritage.

Ayaans product range also includes designer lamps, wall mirrors, trays and coasters, baskets, candle stands, tea-light holders, key holders, photo frames, table mats and more. In one corner of the store, you can also see designer Pashmina shawls in different shades of black, grey, orange etc. These are available for Rs. 30,000 to around Rs. 1 lakh.

Our verdict - The product range at Ayaan is ethnic and exotic. It revives Indian crafts. The variety in Pashmina shawls is especially very good. High prices could be a barrier for purchase though. Parking facility is available and the store is open on all seven days.
