It is no doubt that running can help you get a flat belly simply because you can burn a lot of stomach fat by running.
It's one of the most effective cardio workouts there is.
However, you should know two things: 1.
You won't get flat abs by running alone.
You need to also do strength exercises and watch your diet.

There are ways to make your running much more effective and burn more fat faster.
Do this and you will get results much faster.
The key to running in order to get a flat belly is to not measure the effectiveness of your workout by how long it is but by how intensive it is.
Naturally, you want to take things gradually and you can't risk injury by pushing yourself too hard, but you need to make each workout challenging enough.
 Otherwise you will never burn enough fat.
One way to do this is to run intervals.
Running intervals involves changing your pace every few moments so that you're running very fast, then slow down a bit to catch your breath, then fast again.
This way, you're pushing your body but still able make this workout last for enough time to make it effective.
The main benefit is that you're burning more stomach fat in less time because of the intervals.
You don't have to do those long, 45-60 minutes runs anymore.
You can get a great workout in just 20--25 minutes.
Another tips is to do some up hill running even if it's for a short distance.
Running at an incline really challenges your body and produces more strain on the legs.
Try running at least a few dozen yards at an incline every running workout and you will see faster results.
