  According to the Canadian Council of Naturopathic Examiners, a naturopathic doctor (ND) should complete a 4-year premedical degree followed by medical school. NDs will follow virtually the same path as MDs but will then expand their studies to include the use of herbs, nutrition, physical medicine, homeopathy, and mind-body medicine. Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine

• CCNM's School of Continuing Education (CE) promotes ongoing professional and personal development in the field of naturopathic medicine. Courses are available online for adults who already hold an ND degree and seek to expand their knowledge as well as for individuals interested in privately implementing naturopathic principles. In order to receive course credit toward an official ND degree, students must enroll in traditional classes.

Alternative Medicine College of Canada

• AMCC offers an entirely online program that will certify students to work as a health practitioner in the field of naturopathy. While not doctors, naturopathic health practicioners may offer counsel at home, in a private practice or in a health center. Practicioners may also teach alternative medicine, give seminars, write articles, or manage health stores.

Canadian Institute of Natural Health and Healing

• Like AMCC, The Canadian Institute of Natural Health and Healing offers degrees for natural health pracitioners who will become trained in principles of naturopathic medicine. These students will be qualified to act as counselors upon graduation. However, additional schooling would be necessary to become a licensed ND. Correspondence courses are accredited and accepted worldwide.
