LOCKERSMASH TOP 5 NBA MOCK DRAFT
May 18, 2011 By Brandon Gumaer
With the draft lottery complete, here is a stab at what the first five picks of the NBA draft might look like!

1. Kyrie Irving (PG-Duke) — Cleveland Cavaliers
–Cleveland cannot pass up on the most talent and most potential in the draft. Kyrie Irving can completely change the dynamics of a team at the point guard position.

2. Enes Kanter (C-Turkey) — Minnesota Timberwolves
–Was ruled ineligible for this entire last season at Kentucky, but he is a big man with lots of skill that could play right away for a team like the Timberwolves. They have too many face-up, combo players just like Derrick Williams to take him at this position.

3. Derrick Williams (SF, PF-Arizona) — Utah Jazz
–Standout season which included amazing performance after amazing performance in the NCAA tournament. He is a face-up power forward making him more of a small forward. It will be interesting to see what role he takes on in the pros.

4. Jan Vesley (SF, PF-Czech Republic) — Cleveland Cavaliers
–If there is an NBA lockout, he is still eligible to play overseas so he will not lose any time or rhythm on the court. What he loses in bulk strength, he makes up for in athleticism. He would be a good fit for Cleveland who can use all the help they can get down low, on the wing…basically anywhere on the court.

5. Markieff Morris (PF-Kansas) –Toronto Raptors
–Morris is a solid rebounder and defender who can help the Raptors out at either the 4 or 5 position. He put up great numbers on a terrific Kansas team. With this pick, the Raptors would eventually be able to move Andrea Bargnani to the wing position. But watch out, Tristan Thompson (Texas), is a Canadian native and a viable pick for the Toronto Raptors.
