How to Create Wrist Bands
- 1). Choose a main color. If you want the background of your wristband to be a solid color, choose a piece of colored construction paper. If you want to create your own background, choose a white or light colored piece of construction paper.
- 2). Determine the size of your wristband. To determine the length of your wristband, wrap a piece of string around your wrist and cut it where both ends meet. Lay the string out on the paper and make a mark about two inches longer than the length of the string. Use a pencil and ruler to mark on your construction paper how wide you want your wristband to be.
- 3). Create your main wristband piece. Color and decorate the measured out strip that will form the base of your wristband with colored pencils, markers, or crayons.
- 4). Cut out your band. Use scissors to cut the band out of the construction paper according to the measurements your marked.
- 5). Add details and decorations. Personalize your wristband by adding a single word, your name, or a saying with self-adhesive block letters. Glue beads, rhinestones, or pieces of fabric onto your band. Spread a thin layer of glue onto the band and dust colored glitter over it. Glue a thin piece of colored ribbon around the wristband to create a different look.
- 6). Cut one end of your wristband into a point that looks like an arrow. Use a craft knife to create a slit in the center of the opposite end of the band. To wear your wrist band, wrap the band around your wrist and slide the arrow-shaped pointed end into the slit and secure.
