How to Paint Pine in a Kitchen
- 1). Sand the pine in the kitchen with 220-grit sandpaper to smooth the wood surface and prepare it for painting. Wipe the wood clean of any sawdust with a cloth.
- 2). Wipe the pine wood in the kitchen with a damp cloth to raise the grain, and allow the wood to dry for 30 minutes. Sand the wood smooth again with 220-grit sandpaper and wipe it clean with a cloth.
- 3). Apply a coat of stain-blocking primer to the pine in your kitchen, using a clean brush. Allow the primer to completely dry before proceeding.
- 4). Sand the pine wood with 220-grit sandpaper for a third time, and wipe it clean with a cloth.
- 5). Apply a coat of paint to the pine in the kitchen with a clean brush and allow it to dry. Lightly sand the wood with 220-grit sandpaper again, and wipe the wood clean. Brush a second coat of paint onto the wood and let it completely dry.
