For Men and Women, Overeating is Tied to Mindless Eating

Men and women are very different creatures in many ways but when it comes to men and women overeating there are many similarities, in both for instance mindless eating has been identified as a major player.
This article shows how mindless eating can be controlled.
In my practice I have both male and female clients who would like to lose weight and the two cannot be handled in the same way.
For instance, it is more common for men to overeat because they look at food as a reward for working hard and the more common reason for women overeating is because of emotional eating.
Yet most of the overeating problems I see can be narrowed down to one thing and that is mindless eating.
It is very easy to mindlessly shovel food in your mouth when you are tired at the end of the day or looking for a way to unwind from a stressful situation.
Mindless eating is a problem because it causes you to consume many unneeded calories which can of course pack on pounds of unwanted weight.
There are ways to break mindless eating and you will find them below: 1.
Eat with all 5 of your senses: try looking at your food, smelling it, hearing it as you bite into it, noticing the texture of it in your mouth and paying attention to it's taste.
It is impossible to eat fast and unconsciously when you are eating with all five of your senses.

Eat without distractions, no email, no computer, no TV just you and the food.
3.
Chew and swallow everything in your mouth before taking a second bite of food.
Whether you are male or female will play a part in your eating habits but one characteristic when it comes to men and women overeating is that mindless eating is a problem for both.
