How to Photocopy to Fabric
- 1). Lay the fabric of choice over the photocopy paper. Photocopy paper is required since it is thicker than normal printer paper and can hold onto the fabric very well. Tape the top edge of the fabric to the paper so the fabric does not fold under as it passes inside the machine.
- 2). Turn on the photocopy machine. Allow the machine to warm up before feeding through the fabric. Run a test page through the machine after about five minutes of warming up to verify the colors come through boldly and with precision. If not, wait an additional five to 10 minutes and then test another page.
- 3). Set the fabric, attached to the photocopy paper, up against the front edge of the photocopier. Press the start button and guide the fabric through the opening with one hand on each side. Do not force the fabric through, simply allow the machine to pull in the fabric as needed.
- 4). Leave the fabric to sit over night. Do not touch the picture or let the fabric become wet or wrinkled through the night.
- 5). Place a sheet of pressing paper over the image in the morning. Iron over the image to set it permanently in the fabric. Use the cotton setting on the iron or low heat to avoid burn marks on the fabric. Leave the fabric to cool and then use as desired.
