How to Draw Wagons
- 1). Use a ruler to draw five horizontal lines. Use a pencil to draw these lines, so they can be easily erased later. Each horizontal line should lie on top of the other. They don't need to be spaced exactly, but they should be fairly even. Now draw four vertical lines through the horizontal. Two vertical lines should be close together on the left, and the other two should be close together on the right side. It's important the two on the left and the two on the right are spaced exactly the same, as this determines the width of the wagon in your drawing.
- 2). Now draw two diagonal lines from the top horizontal line to the second and another from the second to the third at the left side and repeat on the right side. This is the body of the wagon in your drawing.
- 3). Draw two points on the third line, one directly in the middle of the two vertical lines on the left and one just to the left of the two vertical lines on the right. Draw two more points this time on the fourth horizontal line down, one just to the right of the two vertical lines on the left and one in the center of the two lines on the right. Draw circles around those dots and you have drawn your wheels.
- 4). You should now see the shape of the wagon and wheels emerging in your drawing. Erase all lines that don't make up the body of the wagon or wheels. Also erase all overlapping lines, such as the top of the third wheel to the right, the second vertical to the left between the first and second horizontal--as well as the first vertical line to the right between the second and third horizontal line. This makes your wagon solid and eliminates all the guidelines from your drawing.
- 5). Now draw thick black lines connecting the wheels and another connecting the thick line to the bottom of the wagon. Then draw a line from the front connecting lines. Add a triangular top to it. This will make your wagon hitch.
- 6). Now trace over the outline of the wagon with pen. Wait for the ink to dry before erasing pencil marks. Here you are free to draw any additional details you want. Your drawing of a wagon is now complete!
